I have been looking for a computer that is fast, easy to use and does not keep breaking down so that when Google announced a pilot program Chromebook I signed up and got a CR-48. I really like my CR-48 and therefore buy Chromebook Samsung with 3G on sale Gilt lightning. I've been now for several days and I am very happy with it.
The Samsung Chromebook very light weight and portable, and I like the clean look and solid finish. Amazing keyboard and trackpad are HUGE. It also feels much faster than the CR-48. Software on the CR-48 continues to improve and get better in 6 months and it seems that I get even better in the Samsung Series 5. Now there is a file manager and media player and super easy to upload photos to Picasa. And ofcourse has a fast Chrome.
Setup was ridiculously simple. As soon as I log all applications, bookmarks and settings in and I feel like going back in my old computer. In all I think I went from a closed box to fully ready in a few minutes. This is really amazing. All the other benefits of CR-48: fast booting, fast resume, and built in 3G all in this Chromebook.
Chromebook I would recommend to anyone, but when people ask me if this is right for them this is what I say: it's nice if you mainly use your laptop / notebook for your personal things are, at least for me, almost all web based - gmail, facebook, amazon, youtube, google docs. To 'work' I use design software (Adobe CS5, Autocad, etc.) that require serious processing power and large screen, and thus I use a high-end laptop, but that means it's heavy and cumbersome. Chromebook is my personal computer and it works perfectly for that purpose - we leave lying around the house and pick it up whenever we need to do something that is not work related. It also helps that the battery is phenomenal. When my parents (NOT tech-savvy) more than they use a lot of CR-48 and it worked great for them. I plan to get a new Chromebook for them too. So if you want a notebook for personal use that works fast, reliable and cheap, get this one.
